I BELIEVE that American educational materials constitute a primary safeguard to freedom and our way of life.

I BELIEVE that my paramount responsibility is that of representing my company with honor, integrity, and dignity.

I BELIEVE that this responsibility generates the duty of cooperating with all individuals and agencies engaged in educating the children of Texas.

I BELIEVE that it is my duty to observe all reasonable regulations of the adopting and purchasing authorities for educational materials.

I BELIEVE that it is my duty and privilege to respect the rights of all members of The Texas Educational Publishers' Association and to compete ethically with them in adoptions of educational materials at all levels.

PREAMBLE TO CONSTITUTION AND BY-LAWS OF THE TEXAS EDUCATIONAL PUBLISHERS' ASSOCIATION

"With full appreciation of the importance of publishing and distributing educational materials in a free democracy and with the realization of the necessity of cooperation between publishers' agents and all forces and factors in education, we, the Educational Representatives in Texas, associate ourselves together for the following purposes:

To promote good will and cooperation among publishers' agents; to foster and to perpetuate fair publishing practices; to assert ourselves and our rights with dignity but with positive action; and to coordinate our forces with the teachers and the Texas Education Agency for the general good of education."
